Going slow in a fast-paced world
My treatment style has evolved over time to accomodate the needs of the clients who come through the doors. With the fast pace of the world around us and the need for more, faster, harder etc. this actually means that my approach has softened. Read on to find out why and what this means for you and your body.

Working faster & harder might seem like the way to resolve pain and tension in the body - a quick fix so to speak but this might actually go against how the body works. The complex systems in the body that negotiate the communication between brain, body and nervous system are wired to detect stress in the internal and external world. When the outside world is busy it actually takes more time and a more gentle approach to help the system to wind down and relax. This applies to 'injuries' in the body as well as to those looking to relax in general with massage.
I work with the body and with each client's needs, and this often means that I identify a level of stress or protective holding in the body (from life's knocks or from an injury or postural issue). To reduce this, the most effective way is to let the body relax in its own time - think myofascial release and stretch work rather than adding more and more pressure to an overloaded system.
This is why you might find me using more myofascial release techniques and more thai stretching than you might find from other therapists, especially sports massage therapists. I have trained in multiple modialities and bring the best from each to my work. East meets West to give you a combination of clinical techniques, intuitive holding work and work along meridians and chakras. You might find my style unique but it's evidence based and effective.
