The importance of regular treatments

Updated: Feb 23

We often ignore our bodies until there is something wrong, and then hope that one quick fix or some medication will get us back on track. Whilst it certainly can help, regular maintenance can make sure that we avoid injury and should be an important part of any training and for general self-care. That's why I recommend regular appointments, whether this is for relaxation or following injury or treatment of chronic pain.

First step of treatment

Initial clinical, sports or remedial issues are ideally treated weekly for 1-6 weeks, followed by a longer gap between treatments whilst the issue is managed and there is a return to 'normal' functioning. Once this is complete the recommendation is to keep on top of things and prevent further issues by having subsequent 4-6 weekly maintenance sessions. Been skipping the maintenance sessions? Relaxation & stress and tension relief

We all need a bit of self-care and our bodies are often flooded with cortisol and tension. hours hunched over a desk or doing repetitive movements takes its toll, as does sitting too much! Most of us are stressed and spend too much time trying to be productive, whilst our body is crying out for some calm and soothing touch. That's why that one massage a year shouldn't be all you give yourself. Regular relaxation massage can prevent injury, reduce health conditions that result from stress and can give you much needed down time. There are more benefits, but I won't go on! I recommend a treatment at least every 6 weeks to keep your body, mind and soul feeling good.
