Frequently asked questions
Q. What should I wear?
Wear loose comfortable clothing. Most treatments require you to remove some clothes, often to underwear so that I can work on your body with oils & wax. You will be draped at all times so there is no need to worry about feeling unsafe. If you're uncomfortable with removing clothes we can discuss other ways of working that are fully clothed. you may get some products in your hair and on your clothes so it may be best to bear this in mind in terms of what you wear to the treatment.
Q. Which treatment should I book?
Remedial/sports treatments are for those looking to correct posture, reduce aches and pains and for those with chronic pain or injury. Relaxation treatments are for those primarily looking to de-stress, although I can tailor things to accomodate any areas of focus for either treatment. If you're unsure we can alter it when you arrive or feel free to give me a call before you book. You can't get it wrong as we will discuss things before we start any treatment.
If it's your first appointment select the initial appointment option as this gives us a little more time for the paperwork we need to complete.
Q. Is there parking on site?
Yes, there are marked bays to the front of the property, just outside.
Q. Can I pay by card?
Yes, you can pay by cash or card in person or you can pay by card when booking online.
Q. What should I expect?
A safe, relaxing environment - When you step into my studio you are met with respect, warmth, and non-judgment. I strive to create a sanctuary where you can let go, tune in, and explore new possibilities for wellbeing. Each session begins with attentive listening and assessment, ensuring that your needs and preferences guide our work together.
Q. Will I be 'fixed' in one session?
It depends - for chronic pain I recommend 1-6 weekely sessions to see real, lasting change. Whilst sometimes 1 session is enough, it does sometimes take more than that before you are back to balance and able to come on a less frequent basis for ongoing preventative maintenance treatments (like keeping your car well serviced!).
Q. What does a treatment look like?
Initial paperwork and history taking, assessment and treatment planning is carried out before I explain what we aare working on. You will then get on to the couch and get comfortable under the sheets before treatment begins. I use some stretching techniques, oil or wax-based manual therapy and trigger point work (deep pressure), depending on the needs of each client. I will go through all what I recommend with you before we start any hands-on treatment. Once the treatment is finished I will leave you to get dressed before I return to give some between session self-care advice. Your journey doesn’t end when you leave the studio. I offer guidance, resources, and encouragement to support your integration and continued progress.
Q. Can you treat pregnant clients?
Yes, I have a great deal of experience working with pregnant clients. We can adapt positions to work with your body. Available from 12 weeks of pregnancy.
Q. Can you work with those with medical or mobility issues?
Yes, I can adapt treatments to work around the needs of the client, whether they have additional needs, mobility issues or medical conditions that mean we need to consider how we carry out the treatments. I can liaise with other medical professionals if necessary to ensure that we are working in the most effective way for the client.
