As we head into the middle of January what you might be realising is that this is not the time of year to make drastic changes. The weather is still cold and wet and our bodies want us to slow down, relax and restore. What it is time for though is curling up with a good book and thinking about consistent habits and fostering wellbeing and personal growth. With this in mind here are some book suggestions that might help with learning to love yourself, develop positive habits and maintain consistency towards where you want to be (even if that is on the sofa).

Atomic Habits - James Clear
Some great rationale for building habits and stacking them.
The Chimp Paradox - Prof. Steve Peters
How the brain works and some fun tricks to help outsmart your primitive 'chimp brain'
finding your own North Star - Martha Beck
The queen of coaching writes about how to accept and love ourselves our own way
Goddesses Never Age - Christine Northrup
A new age spritual book about ways of loving the self and fostering good habits. Recommended to me by a dear friend this was one I enjoyed!
Mindset - Dr. Carol Dweck
How to harness the power of mindset to achieve what you want in life (but gently!)
The Happy Brain - Dean Burnett
What is happiness and is it the same as being content? How we can live a life that has more everyday joy.
The Gift of Imperfection - Brene Brown
I love all things Brene Brown - this is a must read for anyone who has ever felt rubbish about themselves.
Heart Atlas - Brene Brown
A tour of emotions and the purposes they serve - spoiler alert, there are no bad emotions!
The Kindness Method - Shahroo Izadi
A workbook for being kinder to yourself (that's fun)
Client-centred therapy - Carl Rogers
A quite heavy but essential read for anyone keen to learn more about the importance of being listened to and heard.
These were a select few and hard to narrow things down to these - some really good starting points but let me know if you are interested in more!
